Our Hair-spiration as of late has been Ms Tennessee Thomas, daughter of Pete, (Elvis Costello’s drummer) girlfriend of the Maestro Mark Ronson. To boot, she’s also an amazing drummer in her own right, The Like is an all star garage-y girl group, the kind of soundtrack MADE for a summer like this one.

The Ombre’d hair, the heavy fringe the perfect Carnaby/Madeline mix- what’s not to love. In this age of Kardashians, and reality TV disposable girls, it’s refreshing to see an “IT” girl of the old school variety.

We’re *mildly* obsessed with all things make up and fabulous at City Salon. But this morning I was thinking about Drag Queens (who doesn’t?!) I was thinking how AMAZING women would look and feel if they took 1/100th of the amount of time a drag queen spends on themselves everyday. What if you had 30 minutes to make yourself look FABULOUS every morning- do you know how that could turn around your WHOLE DAY!? I used to think my grandmother was silly for saying “Put some lipstick on, you’ll feel better” But she and her Coral Delight were dead RIGHT!

SO my advice is this- tell your husband to take the dogs out in the morning, throw some cereal at the kids and lock the bathroom door and take some time to WORK that face! Channel your inner Drag Queen and be FIERCE for at least 5 minutes before you face the rest of your day. Makeup and hair are you ARMOR! and you, you fine lady are a soldier! a hot hot soldier!

Moving out of my Edie phase, (never fully out of it). I’m looking to the band, Nico’s blunt fringe, Lou’s fab curls and micro fringe. Cool, dirty, undone but looks purposeful. BEST of all, EASY to style, some styling lotion, or stlying wax or for one stop producting some Bumble and bumble Texture and Run Run Run out the door.
